Shock Wave Therapy technology has historically been used to help break up kidney stones (lithotripsy) and is now used effectively to treat musculoskeletal conditions involving ligaments, tendons and muscular tissues.
SWT works by promoting new blood circulation to the injured area, decreasing chronic inflammation, increasing collagen formation, decreasing substance P (a pain mediator) and helping to release trigger points. The net result is promotion of healing of ligaments, tendons, muscles and bone.
The treatments are non-invasive, usually 4-5 minutes in duration, and are performed once per week for 3-6 weeks. SWT is best suited for chronic issues (greater than 6 weeks duration).
SWT can be used to effectively treat:
· Tennis elbow
· Golfers elbow
· Rotator cuff injuries
· Plantar fasciitis
· Calcific tendinitis
· Low back pain
· Hip Pain
· Jumper’s knee
· Shin splints
· Heel spurs
· Bursitis
· Shoulder tendinitis
· Chronic upper back pain
Active Release Techniques® (ART®) is a patented soft tissue technique; treating problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. It utilizes a series of detailed protocols that involve the manual application of tension along various muscle fibres throughout the body.
ART® can aid in the recovery of injuries or long-standing chronic conditions, and assist in preventing a recurrence. It may enable the patients to resume their daily activities as well as prevent future injuries and facilitates a healthy lifestyle.
ART® can be utilized along with the chiropractic adjustment, acupuncture, shockwave therapy and exercise in managing pain and achieving optimum health. In our clinic, we frequently utilize ART in the treatment of headaches.
A small example of the conditions we treat with A.R.T. ® are:
· Whiplash
· Back/spinal pain
· Numbness and tingling in the hands and arms
· Carpal tunnel syndrome
· Shin splints
· Rotator cuff/shoulder pain
· Sciatica
· Plantar fasciitis
· Knee problems
· Golfer’s elbow

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.
Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as chi or qi (chee) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. Inserting needles into specific points along these meridians can rebalance energy flow.
From a western perspective, practitioners view the acupuncture points as places to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue, which is believed to boosts your body's natural painkillers.
Chiropractic treatments are a holistic approach to keeping your spine, muscles and nervous system healthy, allowing your body to achieve optimal function. By identifying trouble spots in your spine, specific adjustments are performed to encourage pain relief, increased movement and improved overall health.

We offer a variety of adjusting techniques including Full Spine Diversified Technique, Drop Table Technique, as well as utilizing an Impulse Adjusting Instrument, to better meet the individual needs of each patient.
Based on your History and current condition, the most effective technique will be selected for you.
Chiropractic is gentle and effective in nature and is designed for patients of all ages. Chiropractic treatments, traditionally utilized to helping neck and back pain, are also known to aid in pelvic pain, hip and shoulder problems, headaches, poor sleep, digestive issues and sciatica.
Therapeutic and Sports Massage
Therapeutic and sports massage is used to relieve muscle tension and chronic pain due to injuries and imbalances. Slow steady pressure is used on the soft tissues to facilitate recovery from repetitive overuse.
Therapeutic massage is also widely used to treat headaches and reduce general tension throughout the body.
Myofascial tissues surround and support the muscles throughout the body. This tissue exerts pressure on the surrounding muscles restricting their ability to expand and contract.
This slow sustained hands-on technique increases circulation to the fascia and allows the muscles to recover their flexibility.
Myofascial Release Technique is often used to restore flexibility and function.
Cupping massage using the Australian trained method is a modified version of the ancient Eastern style of cupping. Major differences include targeting the musculoskeletal system rather than meridian systems used by traditional practitioners. Cups are moved in sequence rather than left stationery. This creates a lifting negative pressure on the surface which allows space between cells enhancing hydration of the tissue.
Cupping massage is an alternative to deep tissue massage producing similar results. It is used to assist injury rehabilitation as well as reduce the incidence of injury.
